Descartes: 11th positivist calendar month dedicated to modern philosophy.
DESCARTES was bornin La Haye (Touraine) in 1596. He died in Stockholm in
1650 because of Sweeden winter (he got a pneumonia). His body was sent to
Paris and buried at Saint Germain des Prés church. His works "Discuss
about Method" and "Geometry" are part of the XIX Century Positivist
Library.
| Kant - The 24 day is dedicated to EMMANUEL KANT memory, one od AUGUSTO COMTE predecessors. He was born in Koenigsberg (4/22/1724). In 1781, he published his great work "PURE REASON CRITICS", after preparing it for 12 years, a mark in the Philosophy history. He died in 1804, eighty years old in Koenigsberg from where he never went out. |

V - Biology - It studies general life laws. BICHAT linked it to CHEMISTRY
because of its happy distinction between relation life and nutrition life,
the first one (ANIMALITY) lying over the second one (VEGETALITY). Nutrition
fenomena, analogical to chemical fenomena, belongs only to all alive
beings. Vegetals do not present others. To nutrition life, joins in the
animals, as a consequence of the necessity of being feeded of alive beings,
SENSIBILITY and CONTRACTILITY properties, besides intermediary faculties
of APRECIATION and IMPULSE.
By animal scale consctruction we establish an insensible graduation between
vegetal and man.
GENERAL LIFE LAWS:
3 related to VEGETALITY and 3 related to ANIMALITY besides a 7th
complementary law.
VEGETALITY LAWS:
1st - Continual Material RENEWAL
2nd - DEVELOPMENT, finishing on death
3rd - REPRODUCTION, main alive beings attribute
ANIMALITY LAWS:
1st - INTERMITENCE, necessity of alternating rest and exercise of all
relation functions, organs simetry.
2nd - HABIT, tendency of all intermitent function to reproduce itself
espontaneously as a primitive impulse stops.
3rd - IMPROVEMENT, exercise improves functions and animal life organs
COMPLEMENTARY LAW or 7th life law: HEREDITY results from the last law
combination to each one of the anterior groups. BIOLOGY logical importance
by comparative method development.
BIOLOGY prepares SOCIOLOGY and MORAL and forms a natural link between these sciences and COSMOLOGY group.
